Shopograph

Methodology version 2026.11. Every rating carries the version it was made with.

Ratings

  1. We search the live web for reviews of the exact product: Amazon in every country, other retailers, the brand's own site, Reddit, YouTube, forums and expert testers, including regional and color variants of the same product.
  2. Store star averages are inflated by fake, incentivized and early reviews, so detailed owner reviews and long-term reliability reports count more than quick 5-star ratings.
  3. Dealbreaker problems that show up again and again (it breaks, stops working, leaks, disconnects) cap the rating below 3.0.
  4. The result is a 1.0 to 5.0 rating: 4.0 and up is BUY, 3.0 to 3.9 is MAYBE, below 3.0 is AVOID. If we find too few real owner reviews, we say so instead of guessing.
  5. A rating is saved for 7 days and returned identically to every app user and agent, then re-checked. Every version is kept in the product's rating history.

Prices

  1. We search for stores that sell the product new in the shopper's country, in its currency, including the local Amazon, national retailers, the brand's store and independent shops.
  2. We open each product page and keep it only if it loads, names the same model, is new (not used or refurbished), shows a real price in the right currency and is in stock.
  3. When a big retailer blocks automated checks, we accept the listing only if Google Search returned that exact page and lists it in stock with a price; those are marked google_shopping_listing.
  4. Prices are re-checked every 3 hours at most, and each lowest price is added to the product's price history.

Independence

Some buy links are affiliate links. Commissions never change a rating, the verdict, or which store is shown: we always show the cheapest verified store, whether or not it pays us.
